The Pittsburgh Chess Club is a 501(c)(3) educational, non-profit organization dedicated to chess education and promoting chess in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County. The club currently has over 300+ members of all ages (6-65+) and skill levels (Beginner to Grandmaster). We are located in the heart of Squirrel Hill, along Forbes Ave. between Shady Ave. and Murray Ave. We have two playing halls that also serve as classrooms, and a library.

Members take advantage of discounts and club services, including: club hours, weekly tournaments, classes, lectures, access to our books and other learning resources, and collaborating in our bulletin board and discussion forums.

The club also sponsors and organizes Chess in Allegheny County Schools, a scholastic fund/program which encourages chess education in schools across the county, and Ignite Chess in Pittsburgh, an initiative to promote chess across the county.

The Club has roots going back to the mid-1800s. In the past 150+ years, it has directed some of the longest running tournaments in the nation and hosted simul exhibitions from some of the strongest chess players of their era.
