The Byland Memorial ended dramatically, resulting in a three-way tie for first place.  John Vuillemot, having beaten Expert Kian Patel, led the field by a half point, but Expert Zachary Thompson beat in the last round, catching up.  Meanwhile Douglas Deptola, who had already drawn with Patel and beaten Thompson, had “only” to face Glenn Brown, but he could not squeeze anything from the position, and the draw put him in a tie with Vuillemot and Thompson.

I don’t have a final crosstable, and I don’t have game scores from the top boards, but thanks to online publishing, I can add those to the article later, if I get them.  Meanwhile, here’s the 5th-round crosstable, and some photos I took during the last round:
