In 2018, the Allegheny County Council declared October 1-8 Chess Week. The designation of Chess Week not only recognizes the important role of chess education in our community, but it also recognizes the efforts from our local chess clubs, leagues, and coaches. The Pittsburgh Chess Club invites the community to it's open house to meet our members, play a game of chess, and to learn more about the Club. Stop by the club on the first Monday of the month between 6pm-8pm. For more information, contact us via email or phone.

National Chess Day is recognized on the second Saturday of October, giving us a great opportunity each year to give special recognition to a game that generates challenge, intellectual stimulation and enjoyment for citizens of all ages.
Drop by the club Sunday afternoon for some chess with other members, checking out books from our library, or a good place to study. Please note that this time is reserved for only Junior Members. Also, members under 13 years old should be accompanied by their parent/guardian unless otherwise approved by club management.
